Iranian and U.S. delegations head to Switzerland for talks

KABUL: U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi are traveling to Switzerland for negotiations, according to Reuters.

The development comes a day after Israel and Hezbollah reportedly agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon, following Israeli strikes that had cast a shadow over the planned U.S.-Iran talks.

The success of the negotiations is seen as a key step toward the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and stabilizing global oil markets.
