KABUL: Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy, Serik Zhumangarin, during his visit to Kabul, met with Afghanistan’s Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund at the Gulkhana Palace.
According to a statement from Arg today, the meeting was also attended by Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi, and Chief of the Prime Minister’s Office Mullah Abdul Wasi.
The Kazakh delegation said the purpose of the visit was to strengthen political and economic ties, describing Afghanistan as an important regional partner, said the statement.
Zhumangarin also stated that Kazakhstan would continue supporting returning Afghan refugees and people affected by natural disasters. He added that his country aims to increase imports from Afghanistan and announced the opening of a joint Afghan-Kazakh Chamber of Commerce in Kabul to promote bilateral trade.
He reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to expand cooperation with Afghanistan across multiple sectors.
Meanwhile, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund described bilateral relations as important and expressed hope that the high-level Kazakh delegation’s visit would further strengthen ties between the two countries.
