Iran-U.S. technical talks to begin in Switzerland today

KABUL: The Iranian and U.S. negotiating delegations have arrived in Switzerland, where technical talks are scheduled to begin on Sunday in the Bürgenstock resort.

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that the Iranian delegation, led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has arrived in Switzerland for the negotiations with the United States.

Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President JD Vance said he is traveling to Switzerland to participate in the talks. He stated that he may remain there for one or two days, adding that the discussions will focus on Iran’s nuclear program and the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Separately, Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed Islamabad on Sunday at the head of a high-level diplomatic and military delegation bound for Switzerland.

According to the statement, the technical negotiations between Iran and the United States are taking place following the signing of a memorandum of understanding and are expected to address the implementation of the reported agreement.
