KABUL: The Pakistani Taliban-affiliated group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar has claimed that all of its military activities are conducted within Pakistan and that it maintains an active operational presence in major cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar.
In a statement released by the group, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar said that Pakistani military leaders and security forces should confront them inside Pakistan rather than taking what it described as “foolish measures.” The group further asserted: “ We do not need any neighboring country’s territory for our operations.”
The statement by Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction associated with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), was issued following Pakistani airstrikes on the Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar provinces.
