KABUL: Ukraine has announced that its drone strikes on the Russian city of St. Petersburg targeted a major oil terminal and one of Russia’s key naval bases.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the oil facility was targeted because it serves as an important source of revenue supporting Russia’s war efforts.
According to Ukrainian officials, the operation was aimed at disrupting critical infrastructure linked to Russia’s military and economic capabilities.
St. Petersburg, Russia’s second-largest city after Moscow, is home to more than five million people and serves as one of the country’s most important economic, industrial, and maritime centers.
