KABUL: Venezuela’s Ministry of Communication and Information has reported that the death toll from the country’s recent earthquakes has risen to 3,342.
According to Reuters, the Venezuelan government announced that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank will provide financial and credit assistance to support the reconstruction of the affected areas. In addition, a $200 million reconstruction fund has been established in cooperation with the IMF, while search and rescue operations continue across the disaster-stricken regions.
The European Union has also announced an emergency assistance package worth €5 million and has activated the Copernicus satellite network to assess the extent of the damage and help coordinate humanitarian aid efforts in the earthquake-affected areas.
