KABUL: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that, in an initial response to recent U.S. attacks, it launched missile and drone strikes targeting 85 U.S. military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait.
In a statement, the IRGC said the attacks were carried out in retaliation for recent U.S. airstrikes on military positions and civilian facilities in the coastal areas of Iran’s Hormozgan Province and the city of Mahshahr, actions it described as violations of the ceasefire.
The IRGC also alleged that the United States had violated the terms of the “Islamabad Agreement.”
As of the time of reporting, however, the United States, Bahrain, and Kuwait had not issued any official statements confirming or responding to Iran’s claims.
