KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the ceasefire with Iran is over and that continuing peace talks with Tehran would be “a waste of time.”
Trump made the remarks on Wednesday during the NATO summit in Ankara while responding to questions from reporters.
“I think the ceasefire with Tehran is over,” Trump said.
His comments come amid a sharp escalation in tensions between the two countries. Since Tuesday night, the United States has carried out large-scale strikes against Iran, while Iran has launched retaliatory attacks on U.S. military bases.
