FM Muttaqi calls for faster consular services for Afghan citizens in Iran

KABUL: Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, Vahid Jalalzadeh, to discuss bilateral relations and consular cooperation.
According to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on bilateral ties, improving consular services for citizens, and issues related to border cooperation.
Muttaqi stressed that consular services for Afghan nationals in Iran should be made more accessible, efficient, and aligned with internationally accepted standards.
Meanwhile, Jalalzadeh described consular coordination between Iran and Afghanistan as essential and expressed hope that ongoing discussions would lead to better management of consular affairs and expanded services for the citizens of both countries.
