Three police officers killed, 20 injured in separate attacks in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

KABUL: At least three police officers were killed and 20 others injured in two separate attacks in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to reports.

The Washington Post reported that in the first attack, armed militants ambushed a security forces convoy in the Upper Dir district.

A local police official, Ibrahim Khan, said the attack killed three police officers and wounded 15 others.

According to the report, several hours later, a vehicle packed with explosives targeted a police checkpoint in the city of Bannu, injuring at least five police officers.

No group has claimed responsibility for either attack so far.
