KABUL: The European Union has welcomed the appointment of Rabab Fatima, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General, as the new Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan and Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).
Anouar El Anouni, the European Union’s spokesperson for foreign affairs, said the EU looks forward to working closely with Rabab Fatima in Kabul and in international forums, including the next steps of the Doha process.
He also reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to continuing its support for the people of Afghanistan.
