KABUL: Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Jamshid Khodjayev, has arrived in Kabul at the head of a high-level delegation and was officially welcomed by the officials of the Islamic Emirate at the Arg (Presidential Palace).
According to Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, Khodjayev is scheduled to hold meetings with senior IEA leaders, including the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, and ministers to discuss ways to expand bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The talks are expected to focus on enhancing political, economic, trade, investment, and transit cooperation, as well as collaboration in the sectors of mining and petroleum, agriculture, irrigation, livestock, and infrastructure development.
The visit comes as Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have increasingly emphasized expanding economic ties, boosting bilateral trade, and strengthening regional transport and transit connectivity in recent years.
