KABUL: The U.S. military used a large portion of its long-range missile stockpiles during the five-month conflict with Iran, Reuters reported, citing three informed sources.
According to the report, the weapons expended included Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles and Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM), and the stockpiles of both missile types were nearly exhausted during the conflict.
The sources added that the depletion of these inventories could raise concerns about the U.S. military’s readiness for potential future conflicts.
The report also said U.S. military officials have warned about declining stockpiles of Patriot interceptor missiles and other air defense munitions.
The White House, however, rejected those concerns, saying the United States still possesses more munitions than any other country and that U.S. defense manufacturers are significantly increasing weapons production.
