KABUL: Russia launched large-scale attacks on Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, and surrounding areas early today, CNN, citing Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, reported.
According to the report, at least 15 people were killed and more than 50 others were injured in the strikes.
Ukrainian officials said the attacks caused extensive damage to several buildings and civilian areas.
Emergency responders and rescue teams are continuing search-and-rescue operations, evacuating the injured, and providing assistance to those affected.
Russia and Ukraine have been at war since 2022. Throughout the conflict, Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities have repeatedly been targeted by Russian missile and drone attacks.
