KABUL: Afghanistan’s chargé d’affaires in New Delhi, Mawlavi Noor Ahmad Noor, has called for continued efforts to strengthen political trust, economic cooperation and sustained engagement between Afghanistan and India.
Speaking at an event marking August 15, Noor said relations between Kabul and New Delhi had made significant progress based on mutual respect, political engagement and shared interests.
He said further expanding bilateral ties could create greater opportunities to advance the common interests of both countries.
Referring to the shared cultural heritage of Afghanistan and India, Noor said the influence of Afghan scholars, poets and Sufis remains visible in cities such as Delhi and Lahore.
He described August 15, 2021, as the beginning of a new chapter in Afghanistan’s contemporary history.
