Pezeshkian: Iran is in a position of strength and the war should end today

KABUL: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says the war with the United States should end now, arguing that Iran is currently in a position of “strength and dignity.”

According to Iran’s ISNA news agency, Pezeshkian made the remarks on Friday during a meeting with a group of doctors in Tehran, where he said it would be better for the war to end “today,” claiming that Iran is in a position of strength and that “the whole world recognizes our victory.”

Pezeshkian described an agreement reached through negotiations with the United States as a “major achievement” for Tehran, saying it had also been approved by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

Referring to the agreement, he said there was nothing in any of its provisions that indicated surrender or weakness, arguing instead that the commitments were largely directed at the other side.

The United States and Iran reached a ceasefire in April and signed a memorandum of understanding in June on extending the ceasefire, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and advancing negotiations. However, according to the report, neither agreement has been fully implemented.
