Israeli airstrikes resume in Gaza despite ceasefire

KABUL: At least two people, including a four-year-old child, have been martyred and seven others wounded in Israeli airstrikes in central Gaza, according to reports.

Reuters reported that a residential building in the al-Zawaida area was completely destroyed in an airstrike after an Israeli military warning.

Four-year-old Mohammad Abdulsalam Taha was wounded in the attack and later died in hospital.

Another strike reportedly targeted the Nuseirat refugee camp, where displaced Palestinians are sheltering.

The attacks come despite a ceasefire in Gaza that has been in place since October 2025 following U.S.-mediated efforts. The ceasefire has repeatedly come under strain amid reports of Israeli military strikes in the Gaza Strip.
