KABUL: The Ministry of Public Health has described recently published figures on the number of people suffering from cancer in the country as inaccurate.
Dr. Sharafat Zaman Amarkhil, spokesperson for the ministry, said the ministry rejects the figures and will soon share accurate statistics on the number of cancer patients in Afghanistan with the public.
The ministry’s comments come after the Afghanistan Cancer Control Foundation recently said that more than 1.5 million people in the country are suffering from cancer.
