KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has said Americans aged 18 and older will receive $5,000 payments under a proposal known as the “Trump Share.”
Trump said the money would be funded from revenue generated by U.S. tariffs and argued that Americans are entitled to a portion of those revenues.
Meanwhile, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson said congressional approval would be required for the payments to be made.
Congress has not yet approved the “Trump Share” proposal.
