KABUL: A war with Iran has reduced U.S. stocks of some advanced weapons and created challenges in replenishing ammunition, according to a report by the Pentagon’s inspector general.
The Associated Press reported that Iranian attacks in several Middle Eastern countries damaged or destroyed hundreds of U.S. buildings and military facilities. Dozens of U.S. fighter jets and drones were also damaged or destroyed in the attacks.
The report said as many as 30 U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drones were damaged during the attacks.
According to Pentagon data, the cost of the war with Iran had reached about $37.5 billion by the end of July.
