KABUL: The U.S. military has carried out a strike on a boat in the Caribbean Sea, killing four people.
Reuters, citing the U.S. Southern Command, reported that the boat was targeted over suspected involvement in drug trafficking.
The U.S. military said another boat was also targeted in the Caribbean 10 days earlier, killing three people.
According to Reuters, more than 220 people have been killed in similar U.S. strikes in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific since the operations began.
Human rights groups have described the strikes as “extrajudicial killings.”
