KABUL: Members of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and his family say three of his sisters have been detained in Lahore ahead of a planned September 27 march demanding his release.
Al Jazeera reported that authorities have confirmed an order for Aleema Khan, one of Imran Khan’s sisters, to be held for 30 days under Punjab’s Maintenance of Public Order law.
The reported detentions came ahead of the PTI’s planned protest march on September 27, which the party says is aimed at demanding the release of the jailed former prime minister.
The Pakistani government has not immediately provided details regarding the reported detention of the three sisters.
