KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate has rejected a decision by the International Criminal Court (ICC) concerning the arrest of the leader of the Islamic Emirate and three other officials, describing it as a violation of Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and independence.
In a statement, the ministry said it considers the ICC’s action a violation of the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states.
“Afghanistan has no interaction or cooperation with the court and does not recognize its jurisdiction over the country,” the statement said.
It emphasized that Afghanistan will continue to defend its sovereignty and independent decisions.
