MOSCOW: Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Mohammad Reza Bahrami, a representative of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, on the sidelines of the eighth Moscow Format meeting on Afghanistan, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The two sides discussed Afghanistan-Iran relations, regional developments and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, according to the ministry.
Muttaqi appreciated Iran’s engagement with Afghanistan and emphasized the importance of expanding relations between the two countries.
Bahrami, meanwhile, stressed the importance of regional cooperation and stability, as well as expanding economic ties between Afghanistan and Iran.
