KABUL: Khalil-ur-Rahman, president of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, has announced a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
In a post on X, he said the two sides discussed the situation in Afghanistan, shared priorities at the United Nations, and ways to expand regional and international cooperation.
The meeting comes as Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have in recent years sought to strengthen economic and trade ties, expand transit cooperation and develop regional connectivity.
Energy cooperation and railway projects are also considered important areas of bilateral relations.
