KABUL: The Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mawlavi Najibullah Hayat Haqqani, met with Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, and his accompanying delegation, here in his office.
The two sides holds talks on the expansion of telecommunications and fiber optic networks along the Turghundi railway, as well as issues related to digital governance, cybersecurity, and the coverage and development of telecommunications services.
In the meeting, Mawlavi Najibullah Hayat Haqqani described the relationship between Kabul and Astana as historic and robust.
He highlighted recent advancements in telecommunications and technology, focusing on building systems for promoting digital governance, enhancing infrastructure, and providing telecommunications and internet services to citizens in Afghanistan.
Serik Zhumangarin expressed gratitude over the information provided by Minister Haqqani regarding recent developments in telecommunications and technology.
He noted that Kazakhstan has made significant advancements in various fields, with 94% of its services being provided electronically.
Zhumangarin also assured his country’s cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in extending and developing the fiber optic network along the Turghundi railway.
It is expected that the Kazakh delegation will also participate in the opening of the Afghan-Kazakh Forum today.
