KABUL: The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said in a statement today that Afghanistan exported fresh and dried fruits worth a total of $643 million in the year 1403 (2024).
According to the statement, the exported fruits include almonds, pistachios, apricots, prunes, figs, raisins, apricots, pomegranates, grapes, and apples.
The total weight of the exported fruits was 466,000 tons, said the statement, adding that the primary destinations for Afghanistan’s fresh and dried fruit exports are countries such as India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey.
Efforts are ongoing to enhance the production and agricultural products of Afghanistan for global markets by standardizing processing and packaging.
