KABUL: Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, the acting Minister of Water and Energy, has met with the Chinese Ambassador, Zhao Xing, to Kabul, here in his office.
According to a statement from the ministry on Tuesday, in the meeting, both sides discussed water and energy projects, specifically the Kapisa Baghdara Hydropower Project, the 20 MW solar power project in Bamyan, and the implementation of solar power projects in other provinces.
Mansour emphasized the importance of Chinese cooperation in thees areas and requested support for the implementation of 10 MW and 5 MW solar power projects in the mentioned provinces.
The Chinese ambassador expressed full readiness to facilitate the implementation of the Bamyan solar power project and promised to enhance cooperation in energy development projects.
It should be noted that the geotechnical and geophysical studies for the Baghdara Dam are progressing well, conducted by a Chinese company.
The Ministry stated that the practical work for the Bamyan solar power project will begin in the near future.
