Water supply network to be constructed in Laghman

KABUL: The construction work on a safe water supply network valued at $63,000 (approximately 4.4 million Afghanis) has been commenced in Laghman province, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said in a statement to Radio Omid.

According to the ministry, the project will be constructed in the Nowabad area of Mehtarlam city, the capital of Laghman Province.

The project includes drilling a deep well to a depth of 80 meters, constructing a water reservoir with a capacity of 50 cubic meters, installing 100 water taps, setting up 50 solar panels, and laying 4,500 meters of piping.

With the completion of the project hundreds of families will be provided with access to safe drinking water.

Efforts are underway by both domestic and international organizations to provide safe drinking water across the country.
