World Radio Day; about 280 radio stations operate in the country

KABUL: The Deputy Publication Minister for Information and Culture Mawlavi Hayatullah Muhajer Farahi, on the occasion of the “World Radio Day” in a voice message said on Tuesday, that about 280 radio stations are operating in the country.

“Radio, as a mass communication tool, plays a valuable role in positively changing public attitudes and improving the educational and intellectual level of young people,” said the deputy publication minister of information and culture.

The Islamic Emirate supports the country’s media, including radio stations, said Mawlavi Hayatullah Muhajer Farahi expressing hope that radio workers should fulfill their responsibilities towards their society, people, and country.

Meanwhile, officials of Radio Neshat in Farah province stated that they have resumed broadcasting on the occasion of World Radio Day.

Director of Radio Neshat Wahid Sokout said: “Due to financial problems this media outlet had remained inactive for about 8 months”.

Radio listeners in Afghanistan, especially in remote areas, consider radio as one of the most accessible media for them.

They say, that by using the activity of radio devices, they obtain the information they need in different sectors.

Radio is one of the most popular media in the world.

This media was established for the first time in 1304 in the country.

Currently, radio in Afghanistan, especially in rural areas, is considered one of the most popular media outlets that broadcast information relevant to people’s lives.
