KABUL: The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation said in a statement on Wednesday that transport and transit cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan is set to expand.
The Acting Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mawlavi Hamidullah Akhundzada, met with Hoja Ovezov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Kabul, emphasizing that the current situation is more conducive than ever for enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
The statement noted that during their meeting, both sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations, increasing the transportation of commercial goods, and facilitating visa issuance for Afghan drivers.
According to the Turkmen ambassador, Turkmenistan is keen on expanding bilateral cooperation in various sectors, especially in transport and transit with Afghanistan.
Since the Islamic Emirate takeover of Afghanistan, political, economic, and trade relations between Kabul and Central Asian countries have seen unprecedented growth.
