UAE built 10 health clinics in 7 provinces

KABUL: The United Arab Emirates has built 10 health clinics to facilitate childbirth for women in the most underserved villages of Afghanistan across 7 provinces.

According to Gulf News, the clinics have been established in the remote villages of Nangarhar, Balkh, Herat, Paktia, Paktika, Helmand, and Kandahar, with the expectation of providing health services to 100,000 women.

According to the report, essential services offered at these centers include emergency and critical care, childbirth and pediatric care, counseling, contraceptive services, emergency care, medication, and referrals for high-risk cases.

The health clinics are equipped with advanced medical equipment, solar-powered electricity, mobile units, and ambulances.

Gulf News notes that the construction of the clinics reflects the UAE’s financial support and its commitment to strengthening local communities in Afghanistan, particularly in empowering women and children.

The report does not specify the cost of construction of the clinics.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health has consistently reported efforts to expand healthcare services to remote areas in Afghanistan.
