KABUL: Shaikh Maulana Islam Jar, the governor of Herat, and his accompanying delegation, have visited the “Safid Sang” camp, one of the facilities for Afghan migrants before their expulsion from Iran.
According to Herat governer’s press office on Saturday evening, while visiting the camp in Iran’s Khorasan Razavi province, Governor Islam Jar held discussion with detained Afghan migrants to assess their situation.
During a meeting with officials from Khorasan Razavi, he emphasized the need for a dignified, voluntary, and gradual return of Afghan migrants from Iran.
According to Iranian officials in the province, assurances were given regarding the resolution of problems faced by migrants in the camps and their gradual return to Afghanistan.
The Islamic Emirate delegation, led by Governor Islam Jar, is expected to visit another Afghan migrant camp in Iran to further evaluate the situation of Afghan migrants.
This delegation left for Iran yesterday to discuss the return of Afghan migrants, trade, and economic matters with the country’s western neighbor.
