KABUL: Swiss state media has reported that a four-member diplomatic delegation from Afghanistan recently visited Switzerland, the Swiss public television announced on Friday evening.
According to Swiss government officials, the purpose of the Afghan diplomatic delegation’s visit was to facilitate the process of returning several Afghan citizens who have been convicted of crimes in Switzerland. The report indicates that the number of individuals to be repatriated is 13.
Daniel Bach, spokesperson for the Swiss Immigration Office, stated that the convicted Afghan nationals are being returned to Afghanistan to protect the citizens of Switzerland.
So far, the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not commented on the visit of its diplomats to Switzerland.
There have also been no details provided regarding the identities of the Afghan diplomats who traveled to Switzerland.
Previously, as a result of diplomatic efforts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Afghan prisoners have been transferred from various countries back to Afghanistan.
