160 development projects worth 275 million Afghanis implemented in Kandahar, ministry

KABUL: A total of 160 development projects, worth 275 million Afghani, have been completed and inaugurated in Kandahar province.

The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in a statement said Radio Omid, that the projects included the cleaning of agricultural water canals, construction of rural roads, small bridges, six small dams, eight earthen dams, and retaining walls, and were implemented in the Maiwand district of Kandahar.

The statement did not specify the funding source for these development initiatives.

With the completion of the projects, environmental issues faced by the residents of Maiwand have been addressed.

Additionally, during the implementation of the projects, job opportunities were created for dozens of local residents.

The ministry also reported the commencement of work on cleaning an agricultural water canal at a cost of 1.2 million Afghani in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar.
