MAZAR-I-SHARIF: During their visit to Balkh, an Iranian delegation met with Mawlavi Noorulhadi Abu Edress, the Deputy Governor of Balkh, to discuss the expansion of the Mazar-Tehran and Herat-Mashhad railway networks and bilateral economic cooperation.
The delegation visited the port city of Hairatan and reviewed the Mazar-Termez railway, providing suggestions for future collaborations in addition to technical aspects.
The Deputy Governor of Balkh emphasized that the Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway plays a significant role in enhancing economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran.
He assured that the Islamic Emirate will ensure security and comprehensive cooperation in such projects.
This visit by the Iranian railway officials coincides with a high-ranking Iranian government delegation, led by the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade, currently in Afghanistan to negotiate with Afghan officials in Kabul.
