Opening of 10 factories worth $60 million in Herat; hundreds of jobs created

HERAT: Ten manufacturing factories with a private sector investment of $60 million have commenced operations in Herat province.

According to Radio Omid correspondent, these factories were inaugurated on Monday evening, where Maulana Islam Jar, the governor of Herat, stated during the inauguration ceremony that with assured security, Herat has become the economic heart of the country with its growing industrial sector.

Local officials emphasized the importance of improving the quality and standards of production from these factories.

The newly opened factories will produce, food items, spices, and various industrial goods.

With the launch of these factories, employment opportunities for 500 individuals have been created.

Herat is considered a strategic and important province in western Afghanistan, which, following the resurgence of the Islamic Emirate, has not only seen growth in manufacturing but is also hosting major national and regional projects.
