National Sports Authority condemns attack on Cricketers in Paktika; calls it a “Major humanitarian crime”

KABUL: Following the bloody airstrike by the Pakistani military on a residential home in Paktika province, which resulted in the deaths of several citizens, including cricketers, the General Directorate of Olympics, Physical Education, and Sports has strongly condemned the attack, calling it a “major humanitarian crime.”
In a statement released today, the General Directorate reported that eight citizens, including three cricketers named Kabir, Sabghtullah, and Haroon, were martyred, and seven others were injured in the attack.
The statement emphasized that targeting athletes and civilians is unjustifiable and is considered a “rejected” act by people worldwide.
The statement further stated: “We urge international sports organizations to condemn this crime by the Pakistani military regime using all possible means and to take serious action against it.”
The leadership of the National Sports Authority expressed that the martyrdom of the athletes is a significant loss to the country’s sports community and extended their condolences and solidarity.
It is noteworthy that recent violent attacks by the Pakistani military on civilian and non-military targets in Afghanistan have increased, leading to public outrage against them.
