NPC approved 22 projects worth 3.5 billion Afghanis

KABUL: The National Procurement Commission, chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, has approved 22 projects worth 3.5 billion Afghanis.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s office for economic affairs said in a a statement today that the approved projects include retaining walls, canals, inter-district roads in several provinces, the construction of a dormitory for the Higher Education Institute in Maidan Wardak, and the completion of electricity supply projects in various provinces.
The statement also noted that 35 projects were presented for approval, of which 8 projects were approved with modifications, and 22 projects were approved for a total value of 3.5 billion Afghani, as well as five other projects were returned due to issues in the procurement process.
The approved projects will be financed from the budget of the Islamic Emirate.
It is noteworthy that the National Procurement Commission does not conduct comprehensive technical reviews of the proposed projects before approval.
