KABUL: Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, recently stated that Afghans do not seek war but consider it their right to defend themselves and their country when faced with aggression.
He made the remarks during an interview with Khyber News, today.
In the interview, he addressed various topics, including recent clashes between Pakistani and Afghan forces, the Durand Line, the construction of dams on the Kunar River, and other issues.
He noted that the Pakistani government is expelling Afghan refugees while simultaneously closing its borders, describing this approach as contrary to all humanitarian laws.
Mujahid also mentioned that during recent negotiations between Afghan and Pakistani delegations, threatening statements against Afghanistan could have dire consequences.
Regarding the construction of dams on the Kunar River, he asserted that any construction on Afghan soil is the right and prerogative of the Afghan people.
He emphasized that there are factions within the Pakistani army that do not uphold their commitments, which has damaged Afghanistan’s trust.
This is the first interview with the spokesperson following discussions between Afghan and Pakistani delegations with a Pakistani media outlet.
