KABUL: According to reports from Iranian government agencies, approximately 6 million tons of goods related to Afghanistan are loaded and unloaded at Chabahar Port each year.
The Iranian Embassy in Afghanistan said in a statement on Tuesday night, that the construction of silos, warehouses, and fuel storage facilities at Shahid Beheshti Port in Chabahar, along with the development of railways and roads between this port and the Milak border, will enhance the port’s role in economic cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan.
This port is considered a key opportunity for trilateral economic and trade cooperation among Afghanistan, Iran, and India, with investment opportunities provided by New Delhi.
Recently, the Indian government successfully extended the exemption of Chabahar from U.S. sanctions for several months.
