KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected the claims made by Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, regarding six phone calls between him and Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, the head of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement said today that the first phone call between the foreign ministers of Afghanistan and Pakistan was made within the framework of bilateral understanding and coordination.
He added that during this conversation, Mr. Ishaq Dar expressed his lack of awareness regarding the current situation, stating that he would reach out again after obtaining complete information.
Consequently, a second call took place. The day after this exchange, Mr. Dar attempted to establish communication once more, but due to various reasons, contact could not be made.
The statement emphasized that the foundation of relations between countries is based on mutual respect, and such inaccurate statements contradict this principle of respect.
The ministry indicated that the current administration strives to engage with countries while considering respect, understanding, and positive relations.
This comes amid recent reports quoting Ishaq Dar claiming that he had six phone calls with Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi in one day.
