KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a call for Afghan families, whose members are imprisoned in Iran for any reason, to share their details with the ministry.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Head of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement today said that they aim to address the issues faced by Afghan prisoners in Iranian jails and has urged families to fill out a specific form provided by the ministry.
He also requested that families include a copy of the detainees’ citizenship ID along with other details, and if possible, information regarding the prisoners’ cases.
This comes after a high-level Iranian delegation, led by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, recently visited Kabul, to discuss various issues including the judicial matters concerning imprisoned citizens of both countries.
