Afghanistan and India trade exceeds half a billion dollars in seven months

KABUL: Spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, told the media that trade between Afghanistan and India has reached over half a billion dollars (525 million) in the first seven months of this year.
According to him, exports from Afghanistan to India account for 379 million dollars, which includes dried fruits, saffron, green cumin, and seeds.
He also noted that Afghanistan imported an additional 246 million dollars’ worth of goods from India during the same period.
Imports from India include medicinal herbs, industrial raw materials, cotton products, automotive parts, machinery, and various clothing items.
Ministry officials stated that efforts to enhance trade between Afghanistan and India continue.
This announcement comes as an Afghan delegation, led by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, is visiting India to strengthen trade relations.
