KABUL: The Ministry of Public Works has announced that 147,194 tons of export and import goods have been transferred via rail in the past one week.
Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, in a statement said today that these goods were transferred between November 23 and November 29 through the ports of Hairatan, Aqina, Torghundi, and the Khaf-Herat railway.
“The transfers included 104,313 tons via Hairatan port, 8,396 tons via Aqina port, 15,328 tons via Torghundi port, and 19,157 tons through the Khaf-Herat railway, totaling 147,194 tons,” he said.
The transferred goods included both oil and non-oil commodities. Among these, 327 tons consisted of exports, including pomegranate juice.
This comes as the previous week saw over 135,000 tons of transfers via the country’s rail lines.
