KABUL: Shafee Azam, head of economic relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Haji Aref, general director of industrial parks in Afghanistan, met with officials from India’s Ministry of Textiles in Kabul to discuss strengthening economic collaboration.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, during the meeting, the two sides focused on expanding and strengthening economic and industrial cooperation between Afghanistan and India, particularly in the areas of raw cotton production and processing, enhancing human capacities, standardizing industries, modernizing the textile sector, and clothing production.
The Afghan side has officially been invited by Indian officials to participate in the “Bharattex” exhibition to showcase their products.
Topics discussed also included technology exchange, initiation of professional training programs, technical cooperation to improve cotton quality, and the examination of joint projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Afghan and Indian officials agreed to establish a joint technical committee to follow up on the matters discussed.
It is noteworthy that economic relations between Kabul and New Delhi have recently expanded across various dimensions.
