KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has accepted the credentials of Saif Mohammed Al-Ketbi, the new ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to a statement from the ministry on Tuesday, the Foreign Minister wished the UAE ambassador success and emphasized that there are many opportunities to expand and strengthen relations between Kabul and Abu Dhabi that should be utilized.
He highlighted the importance of developing trade and economic relations between Afghanistan and the UAE and facilitating visa issuance for Afghan citizens.
Meanwhile, the new UAE ambassador noted the historical ties between his country and Afghanistan and committed to working on expanding bilateral trade and transit.
Saif Mohammed Al-Ketbi also emphasized his efforts to ease visa issuance for Afghan traders.
The UAE has maintained close political, economic, and trade relations with Afghanistan for over four years.
