Bennett: The Pakistani military regime must be brought to negotiating table

KABUL: Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights, has expressed concern over recent actions by the Pakistani military regime on Afghan territory and emphasized that respect for international law and the protection of civilians should be a priority.

Bennett stated that international organizations like UNAMA play a crucial role in ensuring human rights protection during wars and crises, and it is essential for countries to adhere to international principles.

He further stressed that Pakistan should return to the negotiating table instead of resorting to violence, as, according to him, issues can only be resolved through peace talks and diplomatic means, not through military strikes and coercion.
