KABUL: The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues reported that a total of 623 Afghan families, totaling 2,349 individuals, returned to the country in one day.
According to the report, the majority of the returns occurred through the Spin Boldak route, where 376 refugees entered. Among them, 226 families were sent to Kandahar, Herat, Zabul, Ghazni, Khost, and Kabul.
Additionally, 152 families were registered at Torkham, with 88 families transferred to other provinces.
A total of 924,000 Afghanis in aid was provided to these families.
Through the Helmand Bahramcha route, 53 families returned, with 13 families relocated to their hometowns and 98,000 Afghanis in assistance offered, said the commission adding that a total of 21 families returned via the Islam Qala route, all of whom received financial support.
Moreover, 30 families and 947 travelers entered through the Nimroz route, where medical services were provided to 533 individuals.
Overall, 327 families (1,816 people) were relocated that day, with 512 families receiving financial assistance and 448 free SIM cards distributed.
