Afghanistan Scholars’ Resolution: Defense of national sovereignty is an “obligation” for every Afghan

KABUL: Reliable government sources have informed Radio Omid that Afghan scholars have issued a significant and clear resolution following a meeting.
According to the source on Thursday, the resolution emphasizes that Afghanistan has an independent Islamic system, and safeguarding its territory and Islamic sovereignty is a religious and national responsibility for every Afghan.
A portion of the resolution states: “Anyone from any region, under any name, who attempts to invade the territory of Afghanistan and the Islamic system, defense of the land and the system shall be considered an obligation for every Afghan, and everyone must stand united and resolutely against such threats.”
The sources added that this decision has been made by the scholars, influential figures, and elders of the country, and it is now the duty of every Afghan to support this decision and fulfill their religious and national role in protecting Islamic sovereignty.
Previously, religious scholars in large gatherings in Kabul have declared their support for the current system and deemed opposition to it as impermissible.
